King County E-911
Many people hesitate to call 9-1-1 because they are afraid to, or unaware of how it works. This is especially true for multicultural audiences. To make 9-1-1 more accessible, C+C helped King County’s E-911 Program Office create Emery’s All Stars Program featuring the lovable Emergency Penguin. With the help of community-based organizations, C+C transcreated materials into Chinese, Somali, and Spanish and led interactive lessons to show kids the how, when, and where of calling 9-1-1. In-language media partnerships further educated audiences by highlighting “All Star” students' participating classes. In total, 227 students participated and over 4.9 million impressions were generated from media coverage in English, Spanish, Chinese, and Somali.
