Project Description

Alaska Airlines Great American Eclipse Flight

The Task:
Build Alaska Airline’s brand as an innovative and forward-thinking airline through unique events.

The Idea:
Alaska Airlines tapped C+C to help coordinate its “Great American Eclipse Flight,” conducting national media outreach and filling an airliner with national media, scientists and enthusiasts to watch the eclipse from 38,000 feet.

The Result:
Alaska Airlines’ Great American Eclipse Flight brought a group of eclipse enthusiasts, scientists (yes, there was even a NASA Astronaut on board) and national media together to experience totality from 40,000 feet. In the first week alone, the flight garnered more than 1.3 billion media impressions totaling $15 million in ad value, with stories produced by reporters on board from NBC News, The Associated Press, Reuters, BBC News North America and more. Video produced on board the flight and posted to Alaska Airlines’ social channels has been viewed more than 920,000 times (and counting!).
