The most effective way to drive participation in energy efficiency programs is also one of the most expensive: one-on-one engagement. So when PSE and C+C joined forces to refine the utility’s field services offering, we made it our mission to create the most efficient one-on-one engagement strategy possible by aligning goals and securing funding from multiple PSE departments. The strategy resulted in a successful pilot program reaching retail staff, consumers, and electrical and commercial kitchen distributors that increased participation and helped them exceed their goals. Building on this success, we expanded the program to include manufactured home retailers, plumbing and HVAC distributors. The new program will create even more consistent customer experiences across program channels, and new opportunities to reach underserved audiences.
