Smart Catch is a program created by Vulcan to increase sustainable seafood served on restaurant menus. Vulcan hired C+C to develop the Smart Catch brand and the marketing strategy for the program’s launch in Seattle. Using PR, social media, outdoor and radio ads, and events. C+C helped Smart Catch recruit 50+ restaurants to the program and earn 82 media placements. Launch events – pop up dinners in Seattle’s Olympic Sculpture Park – also sold out within minutes. Following that success, Smart Catch transitioned to the James Beard Foundation, who also hired C+C to lead communications for the program’s national roll-out. C+C’s strategy recruited 170 more restaurants in 30 markets and earned 25 media stories including placements in the New York Times, Forbes.com and Bloomberg.
