King County Metro
While 74% of Seattle-area residents agree that traffic is one of the region’s most serious problems, only 35% believed that they could make a difference by busing, bicycling or carpooling. C+C helped King County Metro turn the tide on traffic by identifying households likely to try new ways to travel and reaching them through digital advertising, face-to-face outreach, and more, with an offer they couldn’t refuse—a more relaxed commute, free bus passes, help with trip planning and a suite of other tools. It worked—in just thirteen months, the Just One Trip campaign motivated 21,200 people to pledge to try a greener mode of travel for 860,000 trips, and contributed to an overall 3% decrease in drive-alone trips across the King County region.
