Turning wildfire risk into community action
Many communities across Washington face serious and growing wildfire risk, but awareness of that risk rarely translates into the behaviors that would most protect homes and families. Washington State Department of Natural Resources partnered with C+C to create a community-based social marketing program to close that gap. C+C developed Wildfire Ready Neighbors: an integrated program that combined education and outreach, resources, in-home visits, and a framework built for statewide implementation. C+C developed the program branding and interactive website, engaged partners, secured media coverage, produced a series of ad campaigns, and coordinated launch events across the state.
