Culturally relevant tools for tough conversations
Substance use affects Hispanic/Latino youth in Washington at a disproportionate rate. In response, we worked with the Department of Health to create culturally grounded resources that help families guide kids to healthy decisions. Based on research that included interviews with 92 parents, we launched the Spanish-first brand Consejos Que Protegen (Guidance That Protects). Through a resource site, expert videos, and discussion guides, Consejos Que Protegen helps parents lead open, ongoing conversations about fentanyl, cannabis, tobacco, and mental health.
